Eyes, Eyes, Eyes the windows to our souls

they say our eyes are windows to the souls. I say they are a canvas. Why can’t they be both? Makeup is an art and you are the artist. We all need self expression and this is a great way to express how we feel from day to day. Makeup can significantly change the way we look and the way others see us as well. I do my eye makeup many different ways depending how I feel and the season as well as where I’m going that day or night and even the weather. On this page I’ll be talking about the different shadows I use, the looks I create with them and which ones are good, which ones not so good and what my personal favorites are.

Urban Decay Moondust palette Graphite & Vega blended to make a darker shade.

I always say if you can’t find what you’re looking for make it yourself. In the above picture I wanted a very specific shade of dark black blue but sparkly and wanted the quality of the Urban Decay palette I was using that day. I mixed the colors like paints and went to work.

Makeup doesn’t have to cost a million bucks to make you feel like a million bucks

I always learned that the expensive makeup was the best makeup and cheap makeup is a no go period end of story. To some extent this is true, but really there’s a limit. There are the greats in the high end world like MAC, Smash Box and Urban Decay. There’s also the drugstore brands such as Maybelline, Cover Girl, Revlon and these are good I’m not saying they aren’t. Depending on what it is you’re using and doing. Then there are brands that are not as well known until lately and are also very good such as BH Cosmetics and Qing Beauty. I got some really good quality palettes and lipsticks from them. They do all the things we want makeup to do but they don’t break our bank. I will absolutely use the drugstore brands but there are some things I just don’t care for. Eyeshadow works best when it has a creamier texture yes even the powders have that. Those are the best especially for the way I use them. We’ll get to that later in tips & tricks. When eyeshadow is too dry and powdery with no creamy feel at all that’s where we get the fallout. That’s something I have learned to avoid. No one wants dark purple crumbs staining their perfect and fresh foundation face.
